In February 2000 we launched our online service at Realtime Forex SA and we are proud to have been one of the first companies to offer online foreign exchange trading over the Internet.

We have seen many changes take place in the market over the past few years: greater market and pricing transparency, a filtering and improvement in the level of competition and more investor savvy. When we first started at Realtime Forex, telephone trading was still the norm and price discrepancies were enormous. CFDs where just born and FX completely unknown to the public.

Today, through the Internet, investors have instantaneous access to real time prices and market makers are no longer able to price discriminately. There is no longer a need for brokers who charge commissions or transaction fees. Market makers who mark up prices or try to read clients are finding that their services are no longer adequate. Investors now demand a very high level of service as well.

They want trading tools and information available at their fingertips. Competitors that are using off-the-shelf software are finding they can´t keep up with these requirements. More and more, investors are shopping around for the best prices and the best service. In a very short time, the market has become a much more competitive place.

In order to be able to grow in this competitive environment, the board and management of Realtime Forex SA have decided to be regulated out of Europe and to apply for a European license in September 2008. After nine years of experience in the retail business operating out of Switzerland we decided to establish our headquarters in Europe and specifically in Malta. At , we have always been committed to providing a world class service to all our customers, big or small. We have never charged commissions and have always quoted real time market prices.
