US weekly Jobless claims marginally lower after previous revised higher
Weekly Jobless claims came out at 370k compared to a previous at 372K (revised from 370k) – the actual figure was perfectly in line with the consensus of 370k. Figures tend to suggest that the labour market’s recovery may have eased.
Continuing Jobless claims were out at 3.260 million against a previous 3.289 million (revised from 3.265 million) – the actual figure came in higher than the consensus figure of 3.250 million.
Separately data regarding durable goods orders for the month of April came out at 0.2% shrugging off the previous -3.7% (revised from -4.2%). Expectations were for 0.2%, in line with actual figures.
