US Housing starts and Building permits for the month of April decline
Housing starts declined to 0.523 million from a previous 0.549 million and an expected 0.568 million. Building permits fell to 0.551 million from a previous 0.585 million and an expected 0.590 million.
Housing Starts is a measure of new houses built in the US, while building permits measures the number of building projects that have been authorized – both data releases try to anticipate the strength of the housing market.
The news, as expected, was not a major mover for the EUR/USD.
