US Consumer Sentiment higher than expected; more jobs and cheaper gasoline have pushed consumer spending
The preliminary estimate of the Michigan Consumer Sentiment climbed to 77.8 in May, with market expectations for 76.0 compared to April’s final reading of 76.4.
The American consumers feel more confident towards the sustainability of the US economy due to a decline in gasoline prices and more job growth.
