Personal spending higher
The US Commerce Department’s estimates showed personal income and spending rose in September compared to the previous month.
Personal spending was up 0.6% as expected from 0.2% and personal income increased 0.1% from -0.1%, versus consensus for 0.3%. Real consumption was also higher in September, to 0.5% from a flat number in August.
