Jobless claims higher than expected
US jobless claims were higher than expected for the week ending May 28th, however fell marginally from the previous week.
Weekly Jobless claims came in at 422’000 from 424’000 the previous week, versus consensus for a drop to 417’000. Continuing Jobless claims were also higher than expected at 3.711M versus 3.675M, up from the previous 3.690M.
EUR/USD traded higher to 1.4472 from 1.4460 after the jobless claims data release, but fell back to 1.4451.
