Canadian wholesale sales exceeds estimates on stronger automobile sales
Wholesale sales came out at 1.6% against the -0.2% expected and higher than the previous -1.1% (revised from -1.0%) in January. The Ottawa-based Statistics Canada office explained that this increase was mainly attributed to Motor vehicle and parts sales which rose by 2.7%.
Personal and household goods rose by 2.3% and building material and supplies gained 2.2%.
USD/CAD is still trading within a relatively narrow range of 0.9922 - 0.9978.
